Biography

Adam Inglot (born October 3, 1984), studied Environmental Engineering and Geodesy and Cartography at the Faculty of Mine Surveying and Environmental Engineering of AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow. He graduated in 2011 as a M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering, defending his thesis "Verification of usefulness of GeoMod model for prediction of the urbanization process in Cracow agglomeration" under the guidance of Wojciech Drzewiecki, Ph.D. In 2012 he graduated with an engineering degree in Geodesy and Cartography, presenting his diploma project "Creation of a 3D model of the climbing rock using a digital camera and the IMAGE MASTER system" under the guidance of Adam Boroń, Ph.D. During his studies, he was the president of the Dahlta Surveyors Scientific Association and vice president of the National Geodesy Students Club. As a part of his student activities, he co-organized the National Student Surveyors Conference, co-created the AGH Geoportal, and participated in scientific camps organized in Łeba and Tatra National Park. In 2012 he started working at the GIS Center at the Faculty of Oceanography and Geography of the University of Gdansk, where he taught Geographic Information Systems. Since 2015, he has been associated with the Department of Geodesy at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, of the Gdansk University of Technology. He defended his Ph.D. thesis "Semantic topology in the functioning of multi-resolution databases" in 2021 at the Faculty of Mine Surveying and Environmental Engineering of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow under the guidance of Ph.D. Krystian Kozioł and auxiliary promoter Ph.D. Artur Janowski. During his didactic and scientific work, he was repeatedly co-organizer of the Tri-City GIS Day, the international conference of the Baltic Geodetic Congress and he served as a judge in the Academic GIS Challenge Championship. In 2022 he did a postdoctoral internship at the University of Twente under the guidance of a Ph.D. Paulo Raposo.
