Biography

Jan Cudzik (Ph.D. Eng. Arch.) is an assistant professor at the Department of Urban Architecture and Waterside Spaces at the Faculty of Architecture of the Gdańsk University of Technology and the head of the Laboratory of Digital Technologies and Materials of the Future. He is researching kinematic architecture, digital techniques in architectural design, digital fabrication, and forms of artificial intelligence in architecture and art. His research on the automation of design processes and the application of artificial intelligence in design resulted in the creation of Outline AI, where he is the Research Lead. In addition, he is a highly regarded keynote speaker and presenter at dozens of international conferences, where he shares his groundbreaking findings with global experts. Dr. Cudzik has also authored multiple scientific publications and has appeared in prestigious journals, which have contributed significantly to contemporary architectural research.

In his roles as the lead R&D manager at the OutlineAI within the frameworks of projects funded through POIR.02.03.02-30-0136/20 and POIR.01.01.01-00-0900/21, Dr. Cudzik developed technologies leveraging computer algorithms for analyzing real estate for maximal utilization in hotel-oriented applications. His management skills were critical in driving these projects to successful conclusions. Currently, he is conducting research under the new project - FENG.01.01-IP.02-1642/23, focusing on further innovation in artificial intelligence applications. His innovative work at OutlineAI includes having patented geometric methods with artificial intelligence in architecture in the USA in collaboration with other founders of OutlineAI (Patent No. US 11.960,798 B1).

Professionally, since 2008, he has been running his studio, which deals with the comprehensive design of residential and public buildings and the creation of investment projects. His works, which have been awarded and distinguished in international and national competitions in architecture, have garnered international recognition, further solidifying his status as a global leader in the field.
