  • A detector of sleep disorders for using at home

Obstructive sleep apnea usually requires all-ni ght examination in a specialized clinic, under the supervision of a medical staff. Because of those requirements it is an expensive and a non-widely utilized test. Moving the examination procedure to patients’ home with automatic analysis algorithms involved will decrease the costs and make it available for larger group of patients. The developed device allows all-night recordings...

  • Analiza aktywności osób z zastosowaniem czujników ruchu

Artykuł przedstawia zaprojektowany i zrealizowany system monitoringu aktywności osób z wykorzystaniem pasywnych czujników ruchu i metody generacji map aktywności. Pokazano sposób generacji map aktywności oraz wyniki uzyskane dla badań symulacyjnych i z udziałem osób

  • Analysis of activity of people using motion sensors

The article presents the designed and implemented system for activity monitoring of people using passive motion sensors and methods for activity maps generation. In the paper he method is presented and results obtained for simulated data and for data from observations with the participation of people.

  • COMPARISON OF BLOOD PRESSURE PREDICTION METHODS
    Publication

    - Year 2014

In the paper dierent approaches of predicting blood pressure values are presented. Basically, two methods and theirs modifications are considered. In total, seven algorithms have been examined. Tests have been conducted using both synthetic and clinical data. From our study it follows that none of the examined methods is superior to other.

  • ECG-based prediction of ventricular fibrillation by means of the PCA
    Publication

    - Year 2014

A Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD) is a death resulting from cardiac failure with no significant symptoms earlier than one hour before occurrence. It is the cause of for approximately 400000 deaths per year in United States and millions of deaths worldwide. The proposed system, including two-stage algorithm and wearable diagnostic device allows for SCD risk estimation and continuous monitoring of high risk patients. A single channel...

  • Head movement compensation algorithm in multi-display communication by gaze
    Publication

An influence of head movements on the gaze estimation accuracy when using a head mounted eye tracking system is discussed in the paper. This issue has been examined for a multi-display environment. It was found that head movement (rotation) to some extent does not influence on the gaze estimation accuracy seriously. Acceptable results were obtained when using eye-tracker to communicate with a computer via in two displays simultaneously.

  • Human-computer interactions in speech therapy using a blowing interface
    Publication

In this paper we present a new human-computer interface for the quantitative measurement of blowing activities. The interface can measure the air flow and air pressure during the blowing activity. The measured values are stored and used to control the state of the graphical objects in the graphical user interface. In speech therapy children will find easier to play attractive therapeutic games than to perform repetitive and tedious,...

  • Interactions with recognized objects
    Publication

    - Year 2014

Implicit interaction combined with object recognition techniques opens a new possibility for gathering data and analyzing user behavior for activity and context recognition. The electronic eyewear platform, eGlasses, is being developed, as an integrated and autonomous system to provide interactions with smart environment. In this paper we present a method for the interactions with the recognized objects that can be used for electronic...

  • Sleep Apnea Detection by Means of Analyzing Electrocardiographic Signal

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is a condition of cyclic, periodic ob-struction (stenosis) of the upper respiratory tract. OSA could be associated with serious cardiovascular problems, such as hypertension, arrhythmias, hearth failure or peripheral vascular disease. Understanding the way of connection between OSA and cardiovascular diseases is important to choose proper treatment strategy. In this paper, we present a method for integrated...
