Biography
I am an Associate Professor at Gdańsk University of Technology, Faculty of Management and Economics. I gained my PhD in July 2006 for which I received the Polish Prime Ministry’s Award for the outstanding doctoral thesis. Between 2007 and 2008, I was a beneficiary of the Max Weber Fellowship at the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. I conducted part of my research at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium as a Marie Curie Fellow (September 2005-February 2006) and at Glasgow University as a research visitor (March – June 2004). During the academic year 2013/2014, I was a visiting scholar in the Center for Labor Economics at the University of California, Berkeley.
In 2015, I obtained habilitation based on two monothematic series of publications: "Convergence of wages and prices" and "Efficiency and productivity of higher education institutions". Between Sept 2019 and Jan. 2020 as the beneficiary of Bekker program funded by NAWA I was a visiting scholar at the University of Rome, "La Sapienza".
In the period: Sept 2016 - Oct 2020 I was head of the Department of Economics.
My research interests: growth theories, economic integration and convergence, efficiency and productivity analysis, education, and labour markets.
