Biography

Michal Michna received the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Gdansk University of Technology (GUT), Gdansk, Poland, in 1998 and 2005, respectively. Since 2004, he was employed at the Department of Power Electronics and Electrical Machines of the Gdańsk University of Technology (assistant, assistant professor, senior lecturer). In 2010-2015 he was a deputy of head of the Department of Power Electronics and Electrical Machines GUT.

His main scientific and research interests include a wide spectrum of design, mathematical modelling and diagnosis of electrical machines and transformers. In particular, he specializes in design methods based on the sizing equation, numerical modelling methods using FEM, analytical methods of analysis including nonlinearities and hysteresis of magnetic circuits. He is the author or co-author of several dozen scientific publications.

He was a project team member for several national and international projects, including: More Open Electrical Technologies (MOET-FP6-030861), "Modeling of the on-board high-speed synchronous generator" in 6. The European Union Framework Program; "Vertical Wind Turbine" as part of the Large Bonus Support Program - 2015 edition announced by the Polish Agency for Enterprise Development, "Development of a measurement and diagnostic system for testing the status of electrical circuits of superconducting electromagnets" within the FAIR project (Facility for Antiproton and Ion Research) .
