The BDD electrodes wettability modification by anodic polarization treatment

Description

The dataset contains the raw images, photographs obtained for the contact angle measurement at the surface of the boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrode. The measurements were carried out on after potentiodynamic polarization procedure, at various anodic polarization scan range (no polarization - HTBDD; 1.0 V; 1.4 V; 1.9 V; 2.5 V vs Ag|AgCl, scan rate 1 mV/s) in 1M H2SO4 solution. The modification of the contact angle is a derivative of the BDD surface termination oxidation. More detailed information on this study may be found in the manuscript published in Carbon: 10.1016/j.carbon.2015.10.064.

Wettability angle was measured by the sessile drop method (drop volume ∼50 µL) using the self-designed tensiometer system based on B/W CCD camera (Thorlabs, DCU223M, USA).
