Climate change is now very high on the agenda. Its effects can differ locally, calling for targeted solutions. The Baltic Sea Region faces increasingly severe climate-related issues, such as intensive precipitation and flood events. Despite many previous initiatives and projects, resulting in a comprehensive toolkit of institutional, planning and design solutions to tackle these issues, we still don't see a more widespread adoption of proposed measures. This is because various civil society entities need to get involved to facilitate the sustainable transition and climate action. Local and regional authorities and climate experts in SBA still lack effective means for systematic bottom-up interaction with these entities to raise climate change awareness and promote sustainability. It is crucial to provide tools to boost this interaction and in result improve prepardness and the uptake of adaptation strategies at all societal levels. The project will adress insufficient innovation in action for climate adaptation and improve the institutional and social capacity to address the vulnerability of the South Baltic urban areas to the impacts of climate change. This will be achieved by adopting digital dissemination roadmap, which will be piloted in different SBA cities. It initiates a new network of creative interaction by piloting a cross-border digitisation strategy for promoting climate adaptation. Gdańsk University of Technology will gain new collaboration networks and stakeholders thorugh the realisation of the project. It will also lead to the development of new competences of its employees related to digitisation.
