Development of water recycling technology in a car wash using membrane separation

Long-term tests on the separation of real wastewater from car washes will demonstrate the effectiveness of their filtration and confirm the durability of selected types of membranes. Tested there will be changes in membrane permeability, molecular weight limit (cut-off) as well as changes in the morphology and composition of their surface. Wastewater from various car washes will be collected for testing.
During operation, the membranes may be damaged, hence it will be tested whether the membranes retain microorganisms present in sewage. The obtained filtrates will also be assessed in terms of their suitability for washing car bodies. Filtration tests will determine the influence of process conditions (pressure, stream flow rate, water recovery rate) on changes in filtration efficiency.
