Abstract
The theoretical possibilities of utilizing the EHF-band frequencies for point-to-point short range communications have been discussed. The most important factors that affect propagation attenuation in this band have been briefly described, as well as relevant mathematical formulas that allow for numerical analysis of these phenomena. After that, a research have been carried out in which the authors have analyzed propagation losses as a function of link length for specific values of frequency and link availability and for specific, typical for Eastern Europe (and Poland), climatic conditions.
