Biography
Ewa Klugmann-Radziemska graduated from the University of Gdansk with a degree in physics, and since 1996 has been associated with the Gdansk University of Technology, when she began PhD studies. Currently, he is a professor at the Faculty of Chemistry at the Gdansk University of Technology, since 2006 head of the Department of Chemical Apparatus and Machinery. In the years 2008–2016 she was the Vice-Dean for cooperation and development, in the years 2016-2019 she was the Dean's Proxy for cooperation and development, and from 2019 again she is the Vice-Dean for cooperation and development of the Faculty of Chemistry.
Her scientific activities include: research on renewable energy sources (solar, wind, biomass, biogas, biofuels), experimental and numerical tests on free convection, research on renewable energy sources (solar collectors, solar cells and modules, heat pumps), theoretical and experimental exchange studies heat in chemical devices, convective flow structures, as well as energy storage, including the use of phase-change materials.
She published over 340 works, and is also the author of 9 books and academic textbooks and 11 patent applications. She is a laureate of many awards for scientific and didactic activities. In recent years, it has focused on research into the impact of operating conditions, including impurities and temperature, on the decrease in power in crystalline silicon solar cells, recycling of crystalline silicon solar cells and modules, research on the potential of photovoltaic energy use in northern Poland, energy accumulation possibilities, non-waste biodiesel production technologies in the conditions of an individual farm, recycling of rubber waste.
She was the manager of several projects co-financed by the European Union, including the recently completed investment called „Rozbudowa i przebudowa budynku 'Chemia C' Wydziału Chemicznego Politechniki Gdańskiej dla potrzeb kształcenia kadr dla rozwoju technologii w produkcji, przesyle, dystrybucji i zużyciu energii i paliw” with a total budget of PLN 11.5 million, which is an undertaking implemented for the needs of the Smart Specialization of Pomerania ISP3 and included: the extension and reconstruction of the building of the Faculty of Chemistry "Chemistry C", including the construction of an auditorium, didactic laboratories and social facilities along with the necessary development of the surroundings and equipment.
