Current transformers are electric devices which enable measurements of high current intensity with meters characterised by lower measuring ranges. Current transformers are usually used in combination with other measuring devices (e.g. ammeters). Therefore, it is substantial that the transformation errors of current transformers stay within the appropriate range, to retain the proper measurement accuracy, e.g. with the use of the transformer-meter set. The errors which occur during the device's operation have so far been corrected by applying various methods, such as adjusting the number of turns, shunting the winding with a capacitor or by applying various methods of core magnetization. The existing magnetization methods provide low performance stability, or limited possibilities of application in industry. The invention reduces current transformer errors by magnetising the core without the aforementioned inconveniences.
