Korzystnym jest, że możliwa jest łatwa wymiana zarówno układu sterującego, jednostki analitycznej, urządzenia rejestrującego (np. dedykowana kamera zamiast telefonu komórkowego), jak i układu sterowania silnikami. Drugą zaletą jest również możliwość zastosowania łatwo dostępnych komponentów do budowy samej maszyny. Konstrukcja jest tym samym łatwo rozszerzalna i modyfikowalna, można swobodnie kształtować jej rozmiar czy wydajność. Również dokładność i liczba rozpoznawanych kształtów klocków LEGO może być łatwo rozszerzana poprzez podmianę sieci neuronowej rozpoznającej klocki LEGO. Poprzez wymianę sieci neuronowej możliwe jest również sortowanie innych elementów niż klocki LEGO (np., śrubki).

It is advantageous that it is possible to easily replace both the control system, the analysis unit, the recording device (e.g., a dedicated camera instead of a cell phone) and the motor control system. A second advantage is also that readily available components can be used to build the machine itself. The design is thus easily expandable and modifiable, and one can freely shape its size or performance. Also, the accuracy and number of recognized LEGO shapes can be easily expanded by swapping the neural network that recognizes LEGO bricks. By swapping the neural network, it is also possible to sort items other than LEGO bricks (e.g., screws).
