Biography
Jan Daciuk received his M.Sc. from the Faculty of Electronics of Gdansk University of Technology in 1986, and his Ph.D. from the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics of Gdańsk University of Technology in 1999. He has been working at the Faculty from 1988. His research interests include finite state methods in natural language processing and computational linguistics including speech processing. Dr. Daciuk has spent more than four years at European universities and research institutes including Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, the Netherlands, ISSCO, Université de Genève, Switzerland, Université François Rabelais, Tours, France, Universitat d'Alacant, Alicante, Spain, and Stellenbosch University, Republic of South Africa working on common scientific projects. He is the author of more than 40 peer reviewed publications. He has received an award for the best paper at a CIAA 2012 conference. He is a member of the programme committees of an international journal, a member of the scientific committee of two series of international conferences, a member of the scientific committees for a few conferences, and a member of the scientific board of a private speech recognition company.
