Biography

dr inż. Jarosław Bąkowski, assistant professor in the Department of Marine and Industrial Architecture, Faculty of Architecture, Gdansk University of Technology.
The subject of his interest is the programming and designing methodology of functionally complex buildings (especially the healthcare architecture buildings, mainly hospitals). He conducts research on optimization of the design process for functional and utility analysis. Another point of interest is the possibility of functional adaptation of existing buildings, especially those of historical values. He is an author of publications in peer-reviewed national and international publications, and co-author of books on healthcare architecture. He is a member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Heritage Architecture and the scientific advisory committee of the “Studies, Repairs and Maintenance of Heritage Architecture” international conference.
Research and teaching activities are combined with design practice. He is an author and co-author of projects in the scope of residential architecture, public and healthcare architecture.
