Biography
Jerzy Wtorek received the M.Sc., the Ph.D. and the D.Sc. degrees in electronics from Gdańsk University of Technology, Gdańsk, Poland, in 1976, 1986, and 2004, respectively. He has been with Electronics, Telecommunication and Informatics Faculty, Gdańsk University of Technology since 1977. He is currently an Associate Professor at Biomedical Engineering Department. His research interests include the developing of noninvasive methods for the assessment of cardiovascular system, tissue immittance properties, impedance spectroscopy, pervasive and ambient assisted methods and techniques. Dr. Wtorek has spent more than two years at European universities including University of Oulu, London City University, Free University of Brussels (VUB) and Polytechnic University of Catalonia working on common scientific and educational projects. He is author of more than 220 peer reviewed conference and journal papers. He has received many awards for best papers and also for technical and innovative achievements. He is a chair of Biomedical Engineering Department and currently serves as a Dean of Electronics, Telecommunication Faculty. He is a member of many scientific societies, among them of the Polish Biomedical Engineering Society, the Polish Society of Medical Physics.
