Celem przedmiotu jest pozyskanie przez studenta podstawowej wiedzy dotyczącej tworzyw niemetalowych spotykanych w technice i przewozach oraz podstaw doboru tworzyw syntetycznych dla konstrukcji, klejów i powłok, a także metod formowania wyrobów z tych materiałów. Zawężenie dziedziny do potrzeb przyszłego inżyniera w dziedzinie transportu i spedycji morskiej.

Celem przedmiotu jest szczegółowe zapoznanie studenta z materiałami i technologiami stosowanymi podczas budowy konstrukcji z kompozytów polimerowych oraz wybranymi zasadami projektowania konstrukcji na podstawie obliczeń wytrzymałościowych i wymagań towarzystw klasyfikacyjnych.
