  • A SHORT REVIEW OF BLOOD FLOW MODELLING METHODS: FROM MACRO- TO MICROSCALES

The aim of this paper it to review various scale approaches to the blood flow modelling. Blood motion may be described by three types of mathematical models according to the observed scales or resolutions, namely microscopic, mesoscopic and macroscopic descriptions. The above approaches are discussed together with their advantages and disadvantages. Several results of mesoscopic simulations are presented with particular attention...

  • BIG DATA SIGNIFICANCE IN REMOTE MEDICAL DIAGNOSTICS BASED ON DEEP LEARNING TECHNIQUES

In this paper we discuss the evaluation of neural networks in accordance with medical image classification and analysis. We also summarize the existing databases with images which could be used for training deep models that can be later utilized in remote home-based health care systems. In particular, we propose methods for remote video-based estimation of patient vital signs and other health-related parameters. Additionally, potential...

  • CENTRAL-FORCE DECOMPOSITION OF THE TERSOFF POTENTIAL
    Publication

Central forces play important role in the analysis of results obtained with particle simulation methods, since they allow evaluating stress fields. In this work we derive expressions for a central-force decompositon of the Tersoff potential, which is often used to describe interatomic interactions in covalently bonded materials. We simplify the obtained expressions and discuss their properties.

  • Complementary oriented allocation algorithm for cloud computing
    Publication

Nowadays cloud computing is one of the most popular processing models. More and more different kinds of workloads have been migrated to clouds. This trend obliges the community to design algorithms which could optimize the usage of cloud resources and be more effiient and effective. The paper proposes a new model of workload allocation which bases on the complementarity relation and analyzes it. An example of a case of use is shown...

  • Curves of thermodynamic states in some fluids with dispersion
    Publication

variations in the thermodynamic state of a dispersive medium, caused by sound, are studied. A bubbly liquid and a Maxwell fluid are considered as examples. Curves in the plane of thermodynamic states are plotted. They are in fact pictorial images of linear relations of excess pressure and excess density in the acoustic wave which reflect irreversible attenuation of the sound energy. The curves account for the nonlinear generation...

  • GENERAL DYNAMIC PROJECTING OF MAXWELL EQUATIONS
    Publication

A complete – system of Maxwell equations is splitting into independent subsystems by means of a special dynamic projecting technique. The technique relies upon a direct link between field components that determine correspondent subspaces. The explicit form of links and corresponding subspace evolution equations are obtained in conditions of certain symmetry, it is illustrated by examples of spherical and quasi-one-dimensional waves.

  • JMATRIX - a package for relativistic J-matrix calculations in elastic scattering of electrons from model potentials
    Publication

We present a software package JMATRIX, consisting of two computer codes written in FORTRAN 95 and parallelized with OpenMP, implementing the so-called J-matrix method, applied to elastic scattering of electrons on the radial potential, vanishing faster than Coulomb one. In the J-matrix method, physical scattering problem is replaced by using well-defined model, which is solved analytically. Presented software implements both non-relativistic...

  • Nonlinear phenomena of small-scale sound in a gas with exponential stratification
    Publication

The nonlinear dynamics of perturbations, quickly varying in space, with comparatively large characteristic wavenumbers k: k>1/H, is considered. H is the scale of density and pressure reduction in unperturbed gas, as the coordinate (H is the so-called height of the uniform equilibrium gas). Coupling nonlinear equations which govern the sound and the entropy mode in a weakly nonlinear flow are derived. They describe the dynamics...

  • Open extensive IoT research and measurement infrastructure for remote collection and automatic analysis of environmental data.

Internet of Things devices that send small amounts of data do not need high bit rates as it is the range that is more crucial for them. The use of popular, unlicensed 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands is fairly legally enforced (transmission power above power limits cannot be increased). In addition, waves of this length are very diffiult to propagate under field conditions (e.g. in urban areas). The market response to these needs are the...
