Epitaph of Dorothy and John Brandes in St. Mary's Church in Gdansk

Description

The data set concerns epigraphy. It refers to the epitaph placed in St. Mary’s Church in Gdańsk, that is dedicated to John Brandes, highly influential citizen of Gdańsk, whose official career was crowned with the function of mayor, and his wife Dorothy née Zimmermann. The epitaph was founded by their family, and especially by their grandson John Speymann, and made by very well known artist Wilhelm van den Block. Data set contains one general photo of the epitaph, transcription of its text in Latin, its translation in Polish, and the biography of the deceased, also in Polish.
