Description

This is the histopathological image of HEMATOPOIETIC AND RETICULOENDOTHELIAL SYSTEMS tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

The detailed information about the patient, sample, and diagnosis are as follows:

Patient:

Age: 69

Clinical description: A patient with normocytic anemia (Hgb - 9.0 g / dl), complaining of bone pain. In additional tests: hypercalcemia (3,5 mmol / l) and numerous osteolytic bone lesions in X-ray; monoclonal IgM lambda protein in the serum was found.

Result of the histopathological examination: Monoclonal gammapathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) Marrow with a cellularity of about 40%. An average of 7% of the cellular marrow tissue are CD138 (+) / CD56 (-) / Kappa (+) / Lambda (+++) plasmocytes (kappa: lambda ratio equal to 1: 7). Topography of the main lines of hemopoiesis is slightly disturbed , M: E ratio of 4: 1 Bone trabeculae without significant pathological changes
