Description

This is the histopathological image of SMALL INTESTINE tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

The detailed information about the patient, sample, and diagnosis are as follows:

Age: 65

Clinical description: The patient diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma of lymph nodes. An abnormal PET of gastrointestinal tract for which duodenal biopsy has been done.

Result of the histopathological examination: Deposits of amorphous material in the lamina propria of duodenal mucosa which are positive with Kongo red staining. The morphology is consistent with amyloidosis.
