Description

This is the histopathological image of CERVIX UTERI tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: Suspicion of endometrial hyperplasia.

Diagnosis: Other specified noninflammatory disorders of cervix uteri

Result of the histopathological examination: Fragments of the cervical mucosa with areas of squamous metaplasia, with regenerative changes. IHC: p16 (focal +) in both paraepidermal and cylindrical epithelium. Due to regenerative changes in the paraepidermal epithelium, a clear evaluation of dysplasia is not possible. Recommended additional cervical specimens for histopathological examination.
