PA32 aluminum alloy - tensile properties

Description

In addition to steel, aluminium alloys are the main building material used in the shipbuilding industry. Due to its undoubted advantages, such as low density (nearly three times lower than in the case of steel for shipbuilding) and high corrosion resistance, it is often used for hulls of yachts and small vessels as well as superstructures. For safety exploitation of structure made in full or in part of aluminium alloy, it is necessary that alloy meets the strength criteria such as yield point (proof strength), ultimate strength, elongation at break. There are many different alloys with totally different mechanical properties. The most of these parameters are determined in a standardized test - static tensile test. This is a destructive test, a sample of test material is destroyed and can no longer be used.

Dataset is dedicated mainly to students, for their own analysis of material behavior during a static tensile test. It can also be used to calibrate numerical models. Dataset contains a record of five tensile tests of PA32 duraluminium alloy. The tests were carried out in accordance to PN-EN ISO 6892:2016-09 standard, record of displacement from the traverse of the testing machine. Raw data.
