Place attachment, place identity, and visual pollution sensitivity.

Description

The data include individual responses on the following scales (1) place attachment, (2) place identity, and (3) visual pollution sensitivity. Each line represents responses obtained from one participant and his or her demographic characteristics. like gender, age, and education level.

PI 1-12 - Place Identity. The scale consists of 12 identity categories, that group into 4 identity dimensions: local, national-conservative, European, and nonterritorial. The participants evaluate how important, from the perspective of who they are
and who they feel they are, they find such things as the city, the region, the country, or their occupation. They answer on a 5-point scale, where (1) means: not important at all, and (5) extremely important.

SVP 1-11 -  The scale consisted of 11 items: power distribution unit, multicolored building facades, PCV banners, billboards, satellite dishes, bus/tram stops covered with advertisements, electric cables, gas stations, garages, an advertisement placed on storefronts, wheelie bin stores. The participants responded to a question: to what degree does it bother you that the following items are present in your vicinity? on a 7-point scale where (0) meant “[this] does not bother me at all” and (6) “[this] bothers me very much”.

Attachm1-20 - PA Scale - Place Attachment Scale. The scale consists of 20 items, and measures three dimensions: place inherited, place discovered, and non-attachment. Participants respond on a 5-point scale anchored (0) definitely not true to (4) definitely true.
