Place identity in socialist-modernist building

Description

The data include 96 individual response of falowiec's residents on the following  scales (1) social identification, (2) falowiec’s place identity (3) interest in history of place. Each line represents responses obtained from one participant and his or her demographic characteristics. like gender, age, and education level.

Ident1-12 – identification with residents of Gdańsk. Polish version of a 3-factor group identification scale proposed by Cameron (2004; see Bilewicz & Wójcik, 2010, for its previous use in Poland). It contained 12 items (e.g., ‘I have a lot in common with other people living in Gdańsk’ and ‘I often regret that I am a Gdańsk inhabitant’). Participants responded on a 7-point scale ranging from (1) strongly disagree to (7) strongly agree.

PI_fal 1-3 -   Falowiec’s place identity. To determine how identity is shaped by being a resident of the falowiec, participants were asked to indicate, on a 3-item scale, how being a resident of the falowiec is important to who they are and how they feel. Respondents answered in a 7-point response format.

IHF 1-5  - Interest in history of  falowiec . The scale developed by Lewicka (2012) was adapted to take into account the context of the building instead of the city of residence (e.g., ‘I'm interested in the history of the falowiec; I have books at home on the history of the falowiec; I like to visit websites or fan pages devoted to the history of the falowiec.’). Respondents answered in a 7-point response format.

lor_fal = length of residence in falowiec (in years)

lor_gdn= length of residence in Gdańsk (in years)

ident_agg = aggregated data on identification scale (ident1-12)

IHF_agg = aggregated data on interest in history of falowiec scale (IHF1-5)
