Description
Hydrated copper(II) iodate sample was prepared in water solution by reacting copper(II) sulfate and potassium iodate, following the method described by Peterson (J. Chem. Educ. 1957, 34, 12, 612). The sample was subsequently dried at various temperatures in order to produce an anhydrous Cu(IO3)2:
- 125 deg. C, 1 hour
- 125 deg. C, 1.5 hour
- 150 deg. C, 4 hours
- 170 deg. C, 2 hours
- 170 deg. C, 22 hours
