Description

This is the histopathological image of TESTIS tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

Clinical description: 2 months history of tumor of left testis. Hypoechoic well-circumscribed tumor on ultrasound.

Diagnosis: Seminoma, NOS

Result of the histopathological examination: Seminoma of testis. Polygonal tumor cells with well-defined cell membranes, central nuclei and prominent nucleoli. Pale cytoplasm. Focal lymphocytic infiltration. Sheets of neoplastic cells interrupted by fibrovascular septa. Intratubular seminoma. Germ cell neoplasia in situ. Epididymis without seminoma infiltration. Leydig cells hyperplasia in testis parenchyma.
