Description
The research series presents in the form of a design chart possible variants of the spatial layout of the water and land areas of the Outer Port of Gdańsk using different combinations of terminals with various annual turnover volumes. Individual works in the series present different solutions for anchorages, channels, port entrances, turntables and basins, both in terms of their size and mutual location. Work number 3/23/24 is the subject of this study.
Work number 3/23/24 provide for the westward extension of the North Port of Gdansk. The premise of the new part of the port is based on the construction of a new wide pier to the north. The pier and two new breakwaters: one from the north and one from the east, will surround the main body of water in the port. The main body of water will be accessible from two eastern entrances, which will be linked to the existing approach channel to the North Port. The reclaimed area consists of two parts divided by a short perpendicular pier.
