Tensile test results of fused filamend fabricated polylactyde and polylactyde with carbon fiber filler

Description

The Dataset contains the results of the mechanical behaviour of dog-bone shaped specimens. The specimens were additively manufactured with the fused filament fabrication (FFF) method. They used two different materials polylactide (PURE PLA) and polylactide with carbon fibre filler (PLA+CF). The specimens were segregated into three groups - unsterilized, plasma-sterilized and ethylene oxide-sterilized. In each group, specimens were investigated before hydrolytic degradation (W0) and after a specified degradation period (W1-W12). The tensile test was performed using a Zwick/Roell Z10 universal testing machine (UTM). The parameters of the test were: a preload of 10 N, and a constant mid-span displacement increment of  1 mm/min. The tests were stopped after specimens failure. An optical video-extensometer was used for measurements of longitudinal and transverse elongations. The UTM file has (.txt) extension and contains: initial gauge-length L0 (in mm, 4th row), initial gauge-width L0 (in mm, 5th row), the time of the test (in s, 2nd column), force (in N, 3rd column), traverse displacement (in mm, 4th column), longitudinal elongation (in mm, 5th column) and transverse elongation (in mm, 6th column).
