The effect of chitosan concentration and molecular weight on endotoxin content

Description

The dataset includes results to determine the effect of chitosan concentration and molecular weight on endotoxin content as well as the effect of purification methods. The endotoxin concentration was determined using the PyroGene Recombinant Factor C Endpoint Fluorescent Assay. Chitosan 0.6% in 0.1M glycolic acid from Chemat LMW, MMW, and HMW were used in this study. Also chitosan from Chemat MMW with the following concentrations of 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8% purified by chloroform extraction with carbon dioxide saturation method has been used in the experiments. On the basis of raw data imported into a spreadsheet, parameters such as the concentration of endotoxins (EU/ml) in the raw materials and the effect of purification methods were determined.
