The effect of raw material type on endotoxin content .

Description

The datasets contain the results of determining the effect of raw material type on endotoxin content as well as the effect of purification methods. The endotoxin concentration was determined using the PyroGene Recombinant Factor C Endpoint Fluorescent Assay. Beckmann-Kenko sodium alginate and Chemat sodium salt of alginic acid were used for the assays. The 1% solutions of alginate were used for the experiments, unpurified and purified using chloroform extraction before and after precipitation. A 0.7% solutions of chitosan in 0.1M glycolic acid from Chitone, Simga, Chin, Chemat and Chitinor were also used in this study. Purification of the solution from the endotoxin was by chloroform extraction and carbon dioxide saturation method. On the basis of raw data imported into a spreadsheet, parameters such as the concentration of endotoxins (EU/ml) in the raw materials and the effect of purification methods were determined.
