The purpose of the (eng)aging! project is to promote a debate on population aging and its social impacts. The project aims at increasing public awareness regarding this topic and creating a platform for bringing together the Central European stakeholders dealing with population aging. Project's goal is also to improve the quality of life of the older people, their social status and intergenerational relations. One of the main purposes of the project is organizing a scientific session on a conference (eng)aging! 2023 which will be held in Prague.
The focus of this conference will be capacity to manage crises and its impacts on lives of older people. This group is particularly affected by crises such as pandemics, natural disasters, wars and economic crises. Crises can seriously threaten the pension, social and health systems and opportunities for healthy and active aging.
The main advantage for Gdansk University of Technology in this project will be the opportunity to popularize research performed in GUT. It will increase the popularity of GUT and it will have a positive implant on number of citations of research papers written by GUT employees.
