The main objective of the proposed project is to elucidate the role of
of ionic liquids (ILs) in these compound-impregnated metal organic frameworks (MOF) in the CO2 photoconversion reaction. Specific objectives of the proposed project include: (1) development of a new group of MOFs modified with ionic liquids, with improved photocatalytic properties in the CO2 photoconversion reaction; (2) elucidation of the type of interactions between CO2 and ionic liquid adsorbed/
bound to the MOF determining the photoconversion of CO2 to
hydrocarbons; and (3) to propose an excitation mechanism of IL/MOF composite under UV and Vis light, as well as the mechanism of photocatalytic reactions occurring on their surface.
The project will be carried out in collaboration with scientists from
University of Gdansk, University of Pisa and Yachay Tech University.

Morphology control through the synthesis of metal-organic frameworks
PublicationDesignable morphology and predictable properties are the most challenging goals in material engineering. Features such as shape, size, porosity, agglomeration ratio significantly affect the final properties of metal- organic frameworks (MOFs) and can be regulated throughout synthesis parameters but require a deep under- standing of the mechanisms of MOFs formation. Herein, we systematically summarize the effects of the indi- vidual...
