The project concerns on the use of phosphorene as an electrode in lithium-ion (Li-ion) cells. The main scientific goal of the project is to determine the electrochemical stability of phosphorene electrodes kinetic parameters of Li-ion systems for energy conversion.
Ultimately, it is planned to: 1) study the reversibility and stability of phosphorene - lithium electrode systems with the most popular electrolytes used in lithium-ion cells. Galvanostatic charge-discharge tests as well as measurements of open circuit potentials of the systems will be done. 2)do impedance measurements to determine how the forming solid electrolyte interface (SEI) layer on the surface of the electrodes changes over time. SEI layer. 3) determine the kinetic parameters of the tested systems (charge transfer resistance) and the amount of exchange current which are mainly factors determining the power of working cells.
The project results will be presented at international conferences and in publications with an affiliation of the Gdansk University of Technology. These facts cause increase of the scientific value of PG.
