The project involves the design of new types of monomers of natural origin, the synthesis of polyurethane materials using bio-monomers, and recycling using chemical and biological methods. The study of the closed-cycle circulation of natural-derived monomers, from the synthesis of intermediates to the recycling of products, will enable life cycle assessment (LCA). The expected results of the project will provide information on the life-cycle analysis of plant-derived monomers, their synthesis processes and the synthesis of polyurethane materials using them, as well as various methods of recycling polyurethane materials, which will allow the environmental impact of sustainable PUs to be assessed.
