Abstract
Switched capacitor multilevel inverters (SCMLIs) are highly popular for their ability to produce highquality output voltage with less total harmonic distortion (THD). The main feature of this topology is that it require a low number of power switches (seven switches) compared to the existing 5-level inverter topologies. Apart from the dual voltage gain, self-voltage balancing of capacitor voltage without any auxiliary control technique along with reduced voltage stress has been the main advantages of this topology. A comparative assessment of the recent published topologies with the proposed SC-MLI inverter is presented to emphasize the features of the proposed inverter. Finaly, The experimental results are obtained from a 1.0kW prototype setup. The proposed topology tested under various modulation index and load conditions.
