Analysis of Crash Computation on a Basis of the Pronciple of Linear Momentum and Kinetic Energy

Abstract

The article shows the calculation of a vehicle crash with a fixed pile, modelled by the finite element method. There were compared during the crash simulations changes in kinetic energy, as well as – changes in linear momentum and its derivative, with respect to time. Calculations were made in the HyperWorks CAE software environment. The obtained results show influence of various body parts and devices of the deceleration on the vehicle during crash.
