DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF THE RAILWAY BRIDGES IN POLAND WITH REGARDS TO HIGH-SPEED TRAINS PASSAGE ADJUSTMENT

Abstract

The dynamic analysis of the railway bridge in Tczew was carried out in the article as an example of such bridges adaptation suitability to handle high-speed trains. Calculations of railway bridges are greatly complicated and labor-consuming. The bridge model and a rolling stock passage simulation were developed in the SOFISTIK software. Three types of elements were used for the correct mapping of the structure in the calculation model: beam element (BEAM), surface element (QUAD), truss element (TRUSS). The beam element was used to model the entire bridge, as well as to model the high-speed train. The surface element, whereas, was used to define a concrete platform slab and an additional structure located in front of the bridge and behind it, where the train was placed. The model was verified by comparing the results obtained in the field during the ET-22 locomotive and 20 carriages measurements, with the results acquired in the SOFISTIK software for an identical rolling stock instance. Furthermore, after the verification, a high-speed train passage simulation was performed for two cases: case I - a passage of one high-speed train from the Tczew to Lisewo, case II - simultaneous passage of two high-speed trains. The trains speeds ranged from 150 km/h to the maximum speed that can be achieved by the Pendolino train 250 km/h were adopted for the purpose of the simulation. The conditions for adapting the bridge to the passage of high-speed trains have been determined on the basis of the obtained results analysis.
