Abstract
Distributed interactive simulation systems require integration of several areas of computer science and applied mathematics to enable each individual simulation object to visualize effectively dynamic states of other objects. Objects are unpredictable,i.e., controlled by their local operators, and are remote, i.e., must rely on some transmission media to visualize dynamic scene from their local perspectives. The paper reports on the ongoing project aimed at developing a distributed simulator for mission training of helicopters and tanks interacting in a 3D dynamic scene. Based on a generic physical model of a material point some effective communication and visualization methods are proposed and illustrated in the paper with the working prototype
