Biography

Romanika Okraszewska, Ph.D., Eng. Arch., is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering of Gdańsk University of Technology (GUT).

Graduated from the mathematical and informatical class at the National Education Commission High School in Gdańsk. Graduated from two faculties of Gdańsk University of Technology, Architecture and Urban Planning (2002) and Management and Economics (2004). Participant of ERASMUS student exchange program in 2001-2002 on Architectural Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HAWK), Hildesheim/Holzminden/Goettingen, Germany. In 2012, she completed her postgraduate study "Management of research projects and commercialization of research results" at the Faculty of Management and Economics of the Gdańsk University of Technology. The knowledge gained during post-doc studies was confirmed by the "D -level" certificate from the International Project Management Association Poland (IPMA) obtained in 2013.

Her didactic experience began in 2004 as a PhD student at the Doctoral Study Course in Civil Engineering and Architecture. From 2005, she was employed at the Department of Mechanics of Building and Bridges at the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering. In 2009, she obtained her PhD degree in technical sciences at the Faculty of Architecture of the GUT. Her Phd thesis was titled "Spatial conflict situations caused by the development of the transport system in conditions of balancing development". Due to her research interests related to transport, in 2015 she joined the Road Engineering team at the Department of Road Engineering and Transport at Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering, where she has been employed as a professor assistant.

In her didactic practice, she combines transport interests as well as architectural and urban education. The lectures, exercises and projects run by her concern issues related to spatial planning, transport social behavior, environmental protection in transport. She was the supervisor of three master's thesis, seven engineering thesis and she reviewed several diploma theses.

He is also involved in organizational and association activities: she is a member of the Polish Association of Engineers and Technicians of Transportation and the World Society for Transport and Land Use Research (WSTLUR). From 2012, she has been the dean's representative for E-learning and from 2011 the dean's representative for the Baltic Science Festival at the faculty. Since 2017 she has been a departmental correspondent of the PG newsletter. In the last two editions of the international conference, GAMBIT was the secretary of the organizing committee.

Author of over 40 scientific publications. Dr. Okraszewska's research interests touch on the issues of interdisciplinary considerations in social transport behaviors as well as the possibilities and tools for influencing them, environmental protection, sustainable development or health as well as new technological possibilities. She participated in the process of developing SUMP for Gdynia as an external expert and as e member team in Gdańsk. Awarded several times by the Rector of Gdańsk University of Technology for outstanding scientific, didactic and organizational achievements.
