Ancient settlements-atavistic solutions for present water supply and drainage problems engendered by urbanism
PublicationWater is the most valuable resource available on earth. Although it is present in abundance, its usable volume is very scarce. This is the reason behind the existence of both floods and droughts around the world. However, human settlements face water scarcity issues that are primarily engendered by improper town planning measures. To create a balance between the available fractions of water, it is therefore imperative to have proper...

Measuring Consumers' Engagement With Brand-Related Social-Media Content. Development and Validation of a Scale that Identifies Levels of Social-Media Engagement with Brands
PublicationThe purpose of the current study was to develop a scale to measure the consumer's engagement with brand-related social-media content, based on three dimensions established in the framework of an earlier theoretical construct, “Consumer's Online Brand-Related Activities” (Muntinga, Moorman, and Smit, 2011). Qualitative techniques were used to generate an initial pool of items that captured different levels of consumer engagement...

Investigating the sustainability, utilisation, consumption and conservation of sea mammals – A systematic review
PublicationAlmost 80 % of the oceans, especially the Arctic and Subarctic are primarily inhabited by marine mammals. Marine species depend mostly on sea ice for food, raising their young ones and safeguarding themselves from predators. Consumption of marine mammals has always been recommended as healthy, but the truth is that it can be detrimental for human health because of sea water pollution from trash and chemicals. This systematic review...
