PublicationClusterization of web pages is an attractive wayfor presenting web resources. Arranging pages into groups ofsimilar topics simplifies and shorten the search process. Thispaper concerns the problem of clustering web pages and presentsour approach to this issue. Our solution is focused on findingsimilarities between documents delivered by different web searchengines. This process was accomplished by applying WordNetdictionary.

PublicationOpisano układ zasilania oparty na 2 ogniwach paliwowych typu PEM o mocy 1.2 kW każde. Omówiono problem ograniczenie ogniwa paliwowego przez drugą zasadę termodynamiki. Przedstawiono charakterystyki układu w zależności od sygnału obciążenia typu: skok jednostkowy, półsinusoidalny, trójkątny, prostokątny i trapezowy.

PublicationW pracy przedstawiono problem bezpiecznego projektowania elementów żelbetowych na ścinanie według zmodyfikowanego modelu kratownicowego Morscha, w ujęciu normy europejskiej, polskiej i niemieckiej. On the synthesis of coupled-lossy resonator filters with unloaded quality factor control
PublicationA technique for fast synthesis of coupling matrix low-pass prototypes of generalized Chebyshev bandpass filters with lossy resonators is presented in this paper. The coupling matrix is found by solving a nonlinear least squares problem based on zeros and poles of filter's transfer functions. Additional constraints are introduced that allow one to control the level of unloaded quality factor of resonators.

Using Different Information Channels for Affect-Aware Video Games - A Case Study
PublicationThis paper presents the problem of creating affect-aware video games that use different information channels, such as image, video, physiological signals, input devices, and player’s behaviour, for emotion recognition. Presented case studies of three affect-aware games show certain conditions and limitations for using specific signals to recognize emotions and lead to interesting conclusions.

Existence of unbounded solutions to parabolic equations with functional dependence
PublicationThe Cauchy problem for nonlinear parabolic differential-functional equations is considered. Under natural generalized Lipschitz-type conditions with weights, the existence and uniqueness of unbounded solutions is obtained in three main cases: (i) the functional dependence u(·); (ii) the functional dependence u(·) and ∂xu(·); (iii) the functional dependence u(·)and the pointwise dependence ∂xu(t,x).

ANALYSIS OF BONE WEDGE DIMENSIONS SELECTION METHODS IN HIGH TIBIAL OSTEOTOMY
PublicationThe article presents the analysis of methods for selecting dimensions of bone wedge for high tibial osteotomy. The existing methods are described along with the procedure. In the following paragraphs, deficiencies in the selection of bone wedge dimensions and global trends in this field have been demonstrated. Based on the numerical analysis, the problem appearing in the wrong choice of bone wedge imensions was illustrated.

Dempster-shafer theory-based trust and selfishness evaluation in mobile ad hoc networks
PublicationThe paper addresses the problem of selfishness detec-tion in mobile ad hoc networks. It describes an approach based on Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence. Special attention is paid to trust evaluation and using it as a metric for coping with (weighted) recommendations from third-party nodes. Efficiency and robustness of the pre-sented solution is discussed with an emphasis on resil-iency to false recommendations.

Zastosowani sieć neuronową (SSN) o skokowych funkcjach przejścia. Sprawdzono możliwości przyspieszenia treningu sieci neuronowych. Zastosowano modułową metodę budowy SSN, polegającą na dedykowaniu pojedynczej sieci do rozpoznawania tylko jednego typu degradacji.

Fourier transforms on Cantor sets: A study in non-Diophantine arithmetic and calculus
PublicationFractals equipped with intrinsic arithmetic lead to a natural definition of differentiation, integration, and complex structure. Applying the formalism to the problem of a Fourier transform on fractals we show that the resulting transform has all the required basic properties. As an example we discuss a sawtooth signal on the ternary middle-third Cantor set. The formalism works also for fractals that are not self-similar.

On some open questions for Ramsey and Folkman numbers
PublicationWe discuss some of our favorite open questions about Ramsey numbers and a related problem on edge Folkman numbers. For the classical two-color Ramsey numbers, we first focus on constructive bounds for the difference between consecutive Ramsey numbers. We present the history of progress on the Ramsey number R(5,5) and discuss the conjecture that it is equal to 43.

Curb-to-Barrier Face Distance Variation an a TB51 Bridge Barrier Crash Test Simulation
PublicationThis paper addresses the problem of road safety regarding barrier placement as relative to the curb. A short summary of existing regulations is presented. Numerical simulations using the explicit finite element system Ls- Dyna are shown. In the analysis, variable distance between the barrier and the curb is assumed. The obtained result reveals that the distance has little impact on the working width of the barrier.

Bifurcation of equilibrium forms of an elastic rod on a two-parameter Winkler foundation
PublicationWe consider two-parameter bifurcation of equilibrium states of an elastic rod on a deformable foundation. Our main theorem shows that bifurcation occurs if and only if the linearization of our problem has nontrivial solutions. In fact our proof, based on the concept of the Brouwer degree, gives more, namely that from each bifurcation point there branches off a continuum of solutions.
