A Nonlinear Model of a Mesh Shell
PublicationFor a certain class of elastic lattice shells experiencing finite deformations, a continual model using the equations of the so-called six-parameter shell theory has been proposed. Within this model, the kinematics of the shell is described using six kinematically independent scalar degrees of freedom — the field of displacements and turns, as in the case of the Cosserat continuum, which gives reason to call the model under consideration...

Optimization of quadrilateral mesh for ship hull modelling
W artykule...

Hybrid Model of Axially Moving Continua
PublicationThe paper introduces the method of the model reduction of systems that experience a Coriolis acceleration component. It causes that system equations are non-self-adjoined. To avoid such problem modal, reduced model is built up for the system without Coriolis acceleration terms which are next included by application of any lumping technique. Hence, the final reduced model is a hybrid one, obtained by both lumping and modal methods...

Automatic Analysis of Trajectories of Moving Objects
PublicationOngoing monitoring is essential to providing security and safety of maritime and air operations. This paper presents the research in the area of automatic analysis of movement of unrestricted vehicles like ships and air-planes. The analysis is aimed at extraction of trajectory information, and the results can be used to identify anomalous behaviour in archived and real-time data. In this paper we focus on data acquired using the...

Hybrid model of moving or rotating continua
PublicationThe paper introduces the method of the model reduction of systems that experience a Coriolis acceleration or gyroscopic effect component. In such causes that corresponding system equations are non-self-adjoined. Modal reduced model is built up for the system without Coriolis or gyroscopic effect terms. These phenomena are next included by application of any lumping technique. Hence, the final reduced model is a hybrid one, obtained...

Measures of region failure survivability for wireless mesh networks
PublicationWireless mesh networks (WMNs) are considered as a promising alternative to wired local, or metropolitan area networks. However, owing to their exposure to various disruptive events, including natural disasters, or human threats, many WMN network elements located close to the failure epicentre are frequently in danger of a simultaneous failure, referred to as a region failure. Therefore, network survivability, being the ability...

Design of Weather Disruption-Tolerant Wireless Mesh Networks

Influence of mesh density on 2D viscous flutter in a turbomachinery cascade
PublicationIn this study numerical simulations of 2D viscous flutter were performed and compared with available experimental results for various mesh densities and flow parameters. Calculations were carried out for the bending oscillations of an Eleventh Standard Configuration cascade. ANSYS CFX code was used for the SST, SA and k-ω turbulence model calculations.
