Tomasz Deręgowski is Assistant Professor at the Department of Informatics in Management, Faculty of Management and Economics, Gdańsk University of Technology, Poland, and Head of Data Platform Engineering Department, working on Big Data, Machine Learning and Data Science solutions at Nordea Bank AB - the largest Scandinavian financial institution. He has more than 15 years of industrial experience, working as a programmer, team leader, program manager and head of department. He earned MSc in Informatics from the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics, Gdańsk University of Technology, and PhD in Management Sciences from the Faculty of Management, University of Warsaw. 

Research Interests

• Commercial use of Big Data and Machine Learning with particular focus on retail,  enterprise resource management and supply chain management ,
• Tools, standards and practices supporting the work of Data Scientists and Machine Learning engineers,
• Advances in artificial intelligence and automation technologies and their impact on labor markets,
• Civil liberties and consumer’s rights in the age of surveillance capitalism.
