Sathwik was born in 2000. In 2022, he completed his Master’s of Science in  Biological Sciences and Bachelor’s of Engineering in Chemical Engineering in an integrated dual degree program from Birla Institute Of Technology And Science, Pilani, India. During his final year, he worked as a research intern under Dr Giri P Krishnan at Bazhenov lab, University of California San Diego school of medicine to pursue his Master’s Thesis on “Using Markov models and machine learning to characterise replay based on spiking activity during sleep.”
and under Dr Anand Subramoney at the Institut für Neuroinformatik (INI), Ruhr-Universität Bochum  to pursue his Bachelor’s thesis on  “Using Long short-term memory Spiking Neural Networks to interpret and characterize the oscillatory activity and synchrony of a network of neurons.”. His previous works include research projects and internships in the field of Deep Learning, Computer vision and Neuroscience.  He is currently conducting theoretical research on understanding the role of High frequency oscillations in memory using mathematical models and artificial intelligence. The goal of his research is to understand and discover the mechanisms for information processing and dynamics of memory formation in the brain.
