The subject of this invention is a glass-metal composite and its application in the construction of thermocouples and Peltier modules. Thermocouples serve as temperature sensors and Peltier modules are used as heat pumps. Thermocouples are characterised by high precision (which does not necessarily mean that the whole thermocouple-based measuring device is accurate) and flexibility, which facilitates their application in various conditions. The drawback is the low mechanical durability of the measurement coupling and the possibility of current flowing outside the thermocouple circuit, if the coupling is not insulated. The insulation of the coupling eliminates this effect, but it extends the thermocouple’s reaction time to temperature change. For this reason, highly-dynamic measurements are performed with non-insulated thermocouples.
The application of composite is intended to increase the sensitivity of these devices and improve measurement precision and the effects of operating them.
Zastosowanie rynkowe i odbiorcy
The obtained material is used in the production of thermocouples (temperature sensors) or Peltier modules (refrigerators, thermostats for aquaria, tissue transport) as a layer dividing the metal electrodes.
Customers:
Thermocouple manufacturers; Gas furnace manufacturers; Manufacturers of thermostats for aquaria.Aspekty innowacyjne i główne zalety
High electrical conductivity – S/cm; Metallic material with a high Seebeck coefficient; Glass insulating material with a low thermal conductivity coefficient; Placing the composite between two metal sheets makes it possible to obtain a thermocouple/Peltier module with a high electrical conductivity, high Seebeck coefficient and low thermal conductivity (obtaining electrical energy from thermal energy); The temperature difference between the electrodes causes electrical voltage to appear; The thermocouple operates at 300-600K.wyświetlono 223 razy
