Opis

This is the histopathological image of SKIN tissue sample obtained in Medical University Gdańsk and deposited in ZMDL-GUMED. The sample image was taken using: Pannoramic 250 3DHistech slide scanner (20x magnification) and saved to DICOM format.

The detailed information about the patient, sample, and diagnosis are as follows:

Patient:

Age: 50

Clinical description: Status after excision of the skin tumor on the right of the back (Dgn: pT4 nodular cutaneous melanoma). Pathological lymph nodes in the right armpit, next pathological lymph nodes just under the skin superficially.

Gender: Male

Diagnosis:

Classification: ICD-10_10-20

Classification code: Chapter II - Neoplasms

Diagnosis: Malignant melanoma of trunk

Result of the histopathological examination: A fragment of the skin and subcutaneous tissue with a scarring area with the presence of diffuse satellite foci of melanoma infiltration (CKAE1/3 (-), Melan A (+), S100 (+), Sox 10 (+)). The tumor infiltration is accompanied by the presence of vascular embolism from its cells (LVI-1). The melanoma focally reaches the basal surgical margin of the specimen and is at least 0.2 cm away from the lateral surgical margin.
