Post processing and selecting data obtain with parametric sub-bottom profiler SES-2000 Standard during sounding the Gulf of Gdansk
Abstrakt
The main goal of the paper is to describe the results of sounding the Gulf of Gdansk seabed using a parametric sub-bottom profiler SES-2000 Standard. Quality of obtained during trials data depends inter alia on proper location of antenna to reduce influence of pitch, roll, heave and ship noise (bubbles from propeller and a hull flow, vibration from main engine and peripheral devices). Furthermore calibration of complementary units (which fulfill information of sounding data) like GPS, heading sensor, motion sensor MRU-Z and navigation devices make seabed investigating system enable to work with whole capabilities. Results of such prepared trials will be described, showing performed map of the Gulf of Gdansk with preliminary seabed classification and described most interesting areas. Additionally parametric sub-bottom profiler device deliver two types of data which include different information: envelope and pure echo signal without processing. First is used to present echograms in real time with SESWin software dedicated to work with unit in real time (fast processing with lower accuracy) and second one store pure data (digitalized received signal with high accuracy) which can be analyze in post-processing - difference of this two types of data will be discussed and results of processing them with ISE v.2.92 software and Matlab which allows a clear presentation of the results in 3D, with the possibility of using accurate methods of measurement, will be presented on echograms.
