QoS Resource Reservation Mechanisms for Switched Optical Networks
PublikacjaThe paper regards the problem of resource reservation mechanisms for Quality of Service support in switched optical networks. The authors propose modifications and extensions for resources reservation strategy algorithms with resources pools, link capacity threshold and adaptive advance reservation approach. They examine proposed solutions in Automatically Switched Optical Network with Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching...

RSVP-TE as a reservation protocol for optical networks
PublikacjaIn this paper, we consider the reservation of optical resources problem. We implement extensions for RSVP-TE (Resource ReSerVation Protocol with Traffic Engineering Extension) to achieve the new functionality for optical resources reservation. Based on ASON/GMPLS architecture we examine an open source implementation KOM RSVP-Engine and extend its functionality according to ITU-T and IETF recommendations. The transport plane consists...

JAKOŚĆ USŁUG W ARCHITEKTURZE SIECI ASON/GMPLS A MECHANIZMY REZERWACJI ZASOBÓW
PublikacjaW artykule przedstawiono mechanizmy rezerwacji zasobów w architekturze sieci ASON/GMPLS, która spełnia wymagania nowoczesnych sieci optycznych, a jednocześnie umożliwia sterowanie siecią z gwarancją jakości usług. W artykule porównano dwa mechanizmy rezerwacji zasobów z gwarancją jakości i podejściem typu POOL. Efektywność prezentowanych mechanizmów zweryfikowano metodą symulacji komputerowej w środowisku OMNeT++.

Quality of Service in ASON/GMPLS Network with Hierarchical Control Plane Structure
PublikacjaThe paper presents the problem of quality of service for hierarchical control plane structure of Automatically Switched Optical Network (ASON) utilizing Generalized Multi-Protocol Label Switching (GMPLS). The approach is implemented to control the multidomain network with required quality of service, in a use case of incomplete domain network information. The authors examine different factors, including resource reservation algorithms...

Call processing performance in multidomain IMS/NGN architecture
PublikacjaThe Next Generation Network (NGN) architecture, which bases on the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) concept, is a proposition of a telecommunication network dedicated to the needs of the modern information society. The main goal of NGN is to provide Quality of Service (QoS), for which proper network design and dimensioning are necessary. This also requires appropriate traffic models, which should be efficient and not excessively complicated...
