Wideband crossover structure with double ring resonators
PublikacjaThe structure of a four-port microstrip crossover is presented. The device is composed of two ring resonators, one circular and one built from meander lines, connected by four straight lines. The equivalent circuit model of the crossover is derived. The structure is designed on thin and flexible substrate to allow it to bend. The possibility of applying the device on curved surfaces is tested experimentally.

Equivariant Morse equation
PublikacjaThe paper is concerned with the Morse equation for flows in a representation of a compact Lie group. As a consequence of this equation we give a relationship between the equivariant Conley index of an isolated invariant set of the flow given by x˙ = − ∇f(x) and the gradient equivariant degree of ∇f. Some multiplicity results are also presented.

A novel method of Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex strain differentiation using polymorphic GC-rich gene sequences.
PublikacjaTuberculosis is one of the leading infectious diseases. In this work, a new genotyping method of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) complex strain is presented. 27 Mtb genomes were analyzed for the presence of length polymorphism within polymorphic GC-rich gene sequences. Four genes, Rv3345c, Rv3507, Rv0747 and Rv3511, showing variation in length depending on the Mtb strain were selected for designing primer sequences flanking variable...

π-Stacking attraction vs. electrostatic repulsion: competing supramolecular interactions in a tpphz-bridged Ru(ii)/Au(iii) complex
PublikacjaThe synthesis and characterization of a mixed metal ruthenium(II)/gold(III) complex bridged by tetrapyridophenazine (tpphz) are described. It is isostructural and isoelectronic to the well-known photocatalysts with palladium(II) or platinum(II). Concentration dependent 1H-NMR spectroscopy and XRD studies show that the electrostatic repulsion between the gold(III) moieties exceeds the attractive π-stacking interaction. Theoretical...

Macromodels for efficient FEM simulations of waveguides and resonators
PublikacjaThis paper introduces a novel technique for enhancing the efficiency of the finite element method (FEM) by incorporating special modules, called macromodels, into the standard eigenvalue formulation. The number of unknowns in the separated macromodel subdomain can be significantly reduced by orthogonal projection, using the efficient nodal order reduction algorithm. The idea of macromodels implementation is demonstrated on a simple...

General route for the synthesis of terminal phosphanylphosphido complexes of Zr(IV) and Hf(IV): Structural investigations of the first zirconium complex with a phosphanylphosphido ligand
PublikacjaReactions of R2P-P(SiMe3)Li with [Cp2MCl2] (M = Zr, Hf) in hydrocarbons yield the related terminal phosphanylphosphidocomplexes [Cp2M(Cl){(Me3Si)P-PR2-jP1}] (R = iPr and tBu). The solid state structures of [Cp2M(Cl){P(SiMe3)-PiPr2-jP1}] (M = Zr, Hf) were established by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies. The phosphido-P atoms adopt almost planar geometries and the phosphanyl P atoms adopt pyramidal geometries. The reaction...

An insight into the mixed quantum mechanical-molecular dynamics simulation of a ZnII-Curcumin complex with a chosen DNA sequence that supports experimental DNA binding investigations
PublikacjaAn important aspect of research pertaining to Curcumin (HCur) is the need to arrest its degradation in aqueous solution and in biological milieu. This may be achieved through complex formation with metal ions. For this reason, a complex of HCur was prepared with ZnII, that is not likely to be active in redox pathways, minimizing further complications. The complex is monomeric, tetrahedral, with one HCur, an acetate and a molecule...

IP Core of Coprocessor for Multiple-Precision-Arithmetic Computations
PublikacjaIn this paper, we present an IP core of coprocessor supporting computations requiring integer multiple-precision arithmetic (MPA). Whilst standard 32/64-bit arithmetic is sufficient to solve many computing problems, there are still applications that require higher numerical precision. Hence, the purpose of the developed coprocessor is to support and offload central processing unit (CPU) in such computations. The developed digital...

Uncertainty of antioxidant profiling in complex mixtures using liquid chromatography involving post-column derivatisation
PublikacjaThe main goal of this paper is to discuss the problems associated with antioxidant profiling in complex samples using a high-throughput HPLC system coupled with post-column derivatisation reactor. Based on the experimental data reported in the literature, we demonstrated that improper optimisation of temperature and/or pH assay conditions performed using an on-line derivatisation reactor may substantially change the antioxidant...

New achievements in the field of extraction of trace analytes from samples characterized by complex composition of the matrix
PublikacjaWithout any doubt, the monitoring of compounds present in samples at trace or ultra-trace level usually requires a preliminary step of isolation and/or enrichment of analytes due to the fact that majority of analytical techniques are not sensitive enough for direct determination of trace compounds. On the other hand, sample preparation is considered as crucial part of whole analytical procedures, in particular in samples characterized...
