A Note on Fractional Curl Operator
PublikacjaIn this letter, we demonstrate that the fractional curl operator, widely used in electromagnetics since 1998, is essentially a rotation operation of components of the complex Riemann–Silberstein vector representing the electromagnetic field. It occurs that after the wave decomposition into circular polarisations, the standard duality rotation with the angle depending on the fractional order is applied to the left-handed basis vector...

Heteroclinic solutions of Allen-Cahn type equations with a general elliptic operator
PublikacjaWe consider a generalization of the Allen-Cahn type equation in divergence form $-\rm{div}(\nabla G(\nabla u(x,y)))+F_u(x,y,u(x,y))=0$. This is more general than the usual Laplace operator. We prove the existence and regularity of heteroclinic solutions under standard ellipticity and $m$-growth conditions.

A Population-Based Method with Selection of a Search Operator
PublikacjaThis paper presents a method based on a population in which the parameters of individuals can be processed by operators from various population-based algorithms. The mechanism of selecting operators is based on the introduction of an additional binary parameters vector located in each individual, on the basis of which it is decided which operators are to be used to modify individuals’ parameters. Thus, in the proposed approach,...

Extinction Event Concepts for the Evolutionary Algorithms
PublikacjaThe main goal of this present paper is to propose a structure for a tool helping to determine how algorithm would react in a real live application, by checking it's adaptive capabilities in an extreme situation. Also a different idea of an additional genetic operator is being presented. As Genetic Algorithms are directly inspired by evolution, extinction events, which are elementary in our planet's development history, became...

Linear Time-Varying Dynamic-Algebraic Equations of Index One on Time Scales
PublikacjaIn this paper, we introduce a class of linear time-varying dynamic-algebraic equations (LTVDAE) of tractability index one on ar- bitrary time scales. We propose a procedure for the decoupling of the considered class LTVDAE. Explicit formulae are written down both for transfer operator and the obtained decoupled system. A projector ap- proach is used to prove the main statement of the paper and sufficient conditions of decoupling...

Artificial Neural Network in Forecasting the Churn Phenomena Among Costumers of IT and Power Supply Services
PublikacjaThis paper presents an attempt to use an artificial neural network to investigate the churn phenomenon among the customers of a telecommunications operator. An attempt was made to create a data model based on the customer lifetime value (CLV) rather than on activity alone. A multilayered artificial neural network was used for the experiments. The results yielded a 99% successful identification rate for customers in no danger of...

TRAFFIC MODEL OF A MULTIDOMAIN IMS/NGN
PublikacjaIn this paper we continue our research and present an analytical traffic model of a multidomain Next Generation Network (NGN), which is standardized for delivering multimedia services based on the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). The model takes into account several service scenarios (including registration, intra- and inter-operator calls) and a large set of network parameters. Using the model mean Call Set-up Delay and mean Call...

Smooth Orthogonal Projections on Riemannian Manifold
PublikacjaWe construct a decomposition of the identity operator on a Riemannian manifold M as a sum of smooth orthogonal projections subordinate to an open cover of M. This extends a decomposition on the real line by smooth orthogonal projection due to Coifman and Meyer (C. R. Acad. Sci. Paris, S´er. I Math., 312(3), 259–261 1991) and Auscher, Weiss, Wickerhauser (1992), and a similar decomposition when M is the sphere by Bownik and Dziedziul (Const....

Direct estimation of linear and nonlinear functionals of quantum state
PublikacjaWe present a simple quantum network, based on the controlled-SWAP gate, that can extract certain properties of quantum states without recourse to quantum tomography. It can be used as a basic building block for direct quantum estimations of both linear and nonlinear functionals of any density operator. The network has many potential applications ranging from purity tests and eigenvalue estimations to direct characterization of...

Asymptotic behaviour in the set of nonhomogeneous chains of stochastic operators
PublikacjaWe study different types of asymptotic behaviour in the set of (infinite dimensional) nonhomogeneous chains of stochastic operators acting on L1(μ) spaces. In order to examine its structure we consider different norm and strong operator topologies. To describe the nature of the set of nonhomogeneous chains of Markov operators with a particular limit behaviour we use the category theorem of Baire. We show that the geometric structure...

Explicit and implicit difefrence methods for quasilinear first order partial functional differential equations.
PublikacjaInitial boundary value problems of the Dirichlet type for quasilinear functional differential equations are considered. Explicit difference schemes of the Euler type and implicit difference methods are investigated. Suffcient conditions for the convergence of approximate solutions are given and comparisons of the methods are presented. It is proved that assumptions on the regularity of given functions are the same for both classes...

Inequivalence of entanglement, steering, and Bell nonlocality for general measurements
PublikacjaEinstein-Podolsky-Rosen steering is a form of inseparability in quantum theory commonly acknowledged to be intermediate between entanglement and Bell nonlocality. However, this statement has so far only been proven for a restricted class of measurements, namely, projective measurements. Here we prove that entanglement, one-way steering, two-way steering, and nonlocality are genuinely different considering general measurements,...

Marcinkiewicz Averages of Smooth Orthogonal Projections on Sphere
PublikacjaWe construct a single smooth orthogonal projection with desired localization whose average under a group action yields the decomposition of the identity operator. For any full rank lattice \Gamma ⊂ R^d , a smooth projection is localized in a neighborhood of an arbitrary precompact fundamental domain R^d / \Gamma. We also show the existence of a highly localized smooth orthogonal projection, whose Marcinkiewicz average under the...
